The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Sunday arrested two senior officials of the Northern Railway and the director of a private company in connection with its probe into alleged corruption in the supply of packaged drinking water in premium trains.

Silas, a 1984-batch Indian Railway Traffic Service officer, was involved in a project of his own. Sources said the project — Garland of Peace — was being looked into to see whether any bribes were paid through it. Other cultural activities of Silas will also be probed.
A company run by Chalia’s son is on the CBI radar.
M S Chalia and Sandeep Silas, both former chief commercial managers (catering) with the Northern Railways, and Sharan Bihari Aggrawal, director of Delhi-based firm R K Associates, were remanded in CBI custody for one day
